At this camp you'll discover that African music is fun to learn, play, and perform in an ensemble setting. And you'll learn really quickly. After only the first day at the camp you'll be able to play a song on Zimbabwean marimbas and know the three tones and some basic patterns that are fundamental to West African drumming.
Watch and listen as our Summer Camp students show what they've learned during their week at camp. They will be followed in performance by their instructors from the band, Afro-Mumanzi. Show will be presented from the Community Stage, in the Park (weather permitting).
A day of community fun for the whole family. Pancake Breakfast, Arts & Crafts Display, Farmers Market, Parade, Hi Neighbour Inn, Kids Activities, Goods & Services Auction and the Hi Neighbour Dance, this year featuring Aaron Nazrul and "The Boom Booms." Tickets for the Dance are $20 in advance only at the Errington General Store, Cranky Dog in Parksville or Heaven on Earth in Qualicum Beach. Sorry, NO MINORS
Please note - Proceeds from these events pay for the repair and operation of the Errington War Memorial Hall.
